About the workshop

An international workshop on Free/Libre and Open Source Software will be held in Skopje, Macedonia on the 25th and 26th of October 2006.

It is the final phase of project by UNDP Albania on raising FLOSS awareness in the region. The participants from different institutions in Albania will be able to learn about the FLOSS experience in Government and Education in Macedonia, and share knowledge first-hand with their counterparts from Macedonia.

The workshop is also a great opportunity to promote and advance regional cooperation on Free/Libre and Open Source Software.

Organizations

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Albania is the UN's global development network, advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, expertise, and resources to help people build a better life.

Open Source Albania is a Project whose primary objective is to help enhance the understanding and provide show-cases as to how FLOSS can be beneficial to the Albanian government, educational sector and IT industry, and contributes to the overall development situation in the country.

Free Software Macedonia is a non-profit organization that deals with Free software as in freedom in the Republic of Macedonia. FSM is dedicated to promotion of Free software, creating awareness of both the economic and socio-ethical context of Free software especially for a developing country such as Macedonia.
